Decontamination Super-Centre v On-Site Service

Green & Kassab have recently completed a financial appraisal of the options facing a Trust that was considering whether to adopt an off-site Super-Centre consortia or an on-site/in-house sterile services solution. The option appraisal focused upon the financial implications of each option, considering the costs of capital items, such as the refurbishment of the existing unit and the costs of additional instrumentation for an off-site solution as well as the on-going revenue costs in relation to the service provision including the direct service costs, energy and transport costs. Our appraisal brought all of the costs together within a 15 year discounted cash-flow model, including a full sensitivity analysis, that was praised by the Trust’s Board members.
Our team, including Sterile Services and Financial specialists were able to draw on our past experience of working with over 30 other Sterile Services departments and contacts with numerous other Trusts and equipment suppliers to develop the most realistic set of cost estimates.
Yet another job well done.
