Moving Medical Record off-Site

Green & Kassab have been working with the East & North Hertfordshire NHS Trust to find a cost effective solution to some of the problems being faced by their Medical Records Service. Upper most amongst these were the need to decant the service from its present locations across the Trust’s two main hospital sites.
Our Consultant Team undertook an initial review of the service and identified a number of options, including a number of electronic document management solutions. The resultant report, which was very well received by the Trust identified an off-site central records library, managed by the Trust, as the preferred solution. The off-site library option offered many advantages, including a significant opportunity to improve service levels, improved working conditions for staff and a low capital requirement.
Green & Kassab have subsequently been asked to develop the outline business case for the preferred option, which is being undertaken in conjunction with the wider development plans for the whole Trust.
