IT Services Review

Green & Kassab have recently completed a review of the IM&T Services for a large multi-site acute Trust in the north of England. The review was requested because of serious concerns raised after several outages of IT and email services over the past six months.
Green & Kassab were commissioned to undertake an independent, overview review of the IT Services within the Trust in order to assess whether they are suitable to meet the overall needs of the Trust.
Our review team was led by Steve Wooding, Senior Associate (IM&T), who has led many such reviews in the past and is a former IT Director.
The review covered the following key areas of the IT team’s service;
a) Network support.
b) Maintaining physical hardware.
c) Helpdesk functions.
d) Telecommunications systems.
e) Clinical support for Radiology service and Pathology messaging.
Our brief was to review the performance of the Trust’s IT service in respect of the following issues;
1. Suitability of hardware and software to support the Trust’s corporate activities.
2. Plans and processes in place to manage the systems on a day to day basis to include maintenance disaster recovery, and resilience.
3. The technical capability of the management team to operate the Trust’s I.T. systems.
Completed within a month of commencement, the review highlighted a number of issues where the Trust could strengthen its service delivery and provided an independent view of the strengths and weaknesses of the service.
