Currently it is calculated that the NHS has a carbon footprint of 21 million tonnes per year and is targeted by 2015 to reduce its overall emissions by 10%; This equates to a saving of at least £180 million per year. Darren Jones, who received the CIBSE National Low Carbon Energy Assessor – EPC of the year award 2010, and was the first accredited air conditioning inspector in the UK, has been recruited as Managing Director to head and lead this exciting new venture.
