Gerry Kassab - Executive Director

Gerry Kassab is one of the founders of this Consultancy with over eight years commercial consulting experience and 14 years NHS experience across a broad range of management disciplines.

After graduating from university with a degree in industrial technology and management, he joined Allied Lyons. After four years, encompassing many interesting and innovative projects, he left to travel and see the world as a freelance consultant – working in Bermuda, the Middle East and Europe.

On returning to the UK he acted as a freelance consultant, primarily delivering outsourcing solutions and undertaking efficiency and business process re-engineering reviews for blue-chip companies within banking, manufacturing, utilities and the public sector.

Gerry's introduction to the healthcare sector was in 1987, when he undertook efficiency and process reviews to support competitive tendering of facilities management services. Since then Gerry has continued to maintain a strong professional interest and personal affinity for staff development and change and performance issues facing the NHS.

Over the past seven years Gerry has focused Green & Kassab principally to assist healthcare organisations with the management of change in both clinical and non-clinical areas – in particular, developing significant expertise in the field of integration and re-profiling of services, improving service productivity and achieving financial balance.

Charles Simmons - Executive Director

Charles Simmons joined Green & Kassab in October 1996 and has responsibility for the management and delivery of all the company's cost improvement projects and business administration.

Prior to joining Green & Kassab, Charles spent eight years as a director of a smaller specialist healthcare consultancy. His career in management consultancy began after leaving university, when he joined the South East Thames Regional Health Authority as an internal consultant. After a couple of years Charles moved to the Southampton Health Authority to fulfil a similar role and thereafter formed part of the management buyout that led him to becoming an executive director.

Doug Bailey - Chief Executive

Doug had over 26 years’ experience as a healthcare manager before joining Green & Kassab in late 2004. Doug is also a fully accredited PRINCE2 practitioner, with an excellent track record of applying a broad range of business management skills across a diverse range of health-related services, in both acute and primary care settings.

He has previously held senior positions within the NHS, including director of operations and programme director for a countywide strategic review and redesign of clinical services.

Doug has a comprehensive strategic understanding of the complexities of modern-day healthcare provision, and this is coupled with his strong operational experience and expertise.

Doug leads our Green & Kassab consultancy projects and manages the training assignments.


Paula Gorvett - Principal Consultant

Paula joined Green & Kassab in October 2005. She is an experienced NHS senior manager and has had exposure to a wide range of different healthcare functions at both operational and strategic level including nursing, information, contracting, business planning and development, and project management.

Key roles over the last five years include head of performance and information, with responsibility for leading the Local Delivery Plan negotiations and establishing a robust performance framework; strategic business manager with specific remit for developing individual specialty models of care to underpin the Trust's reconfiguration and project managing the Independent Sector Procurement Programme for the development of an elective orthopaedic treatment centre; and project manager for the integration of two acute trusts in central Sussex.

All the above has provided extensive change management experience, which supports the continued development of her analytical and problem-solving skills.

Kevin Walker - Principal Consultant

Kevin joined the Green & Kassab team in April 2006 after 22 years working in NHS Finance, 13 of which were as director of finance for an acute trust. He has a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the complexities and demands of NHS finance and is at ease dealing with individuals from all types of backgrounds and professions.

He has experience of many types of benchmarking techniques, efficiency measurement and delivery of cash saving schemes of various sizes and complexity.

Kevin is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants, after qualifying in 1989.


Martin Bolding - Consultant

Martin is an experienced project manager and consultant, with particular expertise in the use of information technology to deliver business advantage.

Martin holds a BSc from Imperial College and an MBA from Henley Management College and has successfully delivered several strategic review projects for Green & Kassab clients since joining the firm in 2004.

Sharon DiPaola - Recruitment Manager

Sharon began her career in 1991, working for a national recruitment consultancy as the dedicated account manager, and for a national banking institute where she gained a wealth of experience in managing her own sales team and over 900 associates on a day-to-day basis.

Headhunted in 2000, she then opened and managed the flagship office for one of the world's largest employment services company. In 2002, Sharon was approached to manage an independent recruitment agency specialising in the supply of locum doctors within the NHS. In 2003, she was a key player in winning contracts for both Great Ormond Street and Poole NHS Trust.

Sharon joined Green & Kassab in January 2006 to work on both interim and permanent recruitment.

Tania Barrow - Recruitment Consultant

Tania joined Green & Kassab in 1999, after 10 years working in sales and marketing, predominately for the private sector. Tania worked in a supporting administration role within Green and Kassab which enabled her to gain a wealth of experience and understanding of the requirements and demands of the modern NHS.

In September 2006 Tania transferred to the Interim and Permanent Recruitment Sector of Green & Kassab, where she is responsible for placements and marketing.
